A little Jack and Specs!
(side note: Doesn't he look like he went behind a bush to pee? LOL Does anyone else know the joke about how when guys pee in the ocean they put one hand up to let other guys know what they are doing? The same way Jackson is waving here?)
When you're a criminal helping the FBI you don the glasses, not the trench coat.

"Is it Me?"
*grasps side of chair*
Yes it's you, Rob. So what's with the glasses?
I don't think you are having a problem seeing me Rob, I'm just too far away.
*giggle*
Oh, well we can clear up your vision right here, right now.
Let's have Rob and check his vision, right here, right now.
I've provided you with a standard eye chart, Rob. Why don't you go ahead and read just the first four lines for us.
20/20, Baby!!!
You pass with flying colors!!! Perfect vision!
You know, sometimes the role just requires glasses.
And I'm good with that whether it is for a film
or even just fanfiction.
{let me know if you know who made this}
And no one seems to mind if Rob just throws those glasses on for fun once and a while. Hell I saw this and I had a little twinge of regret.
I know, I know, he doesn't have the role....
...but just for a second I reveled in the thought of him playing Clark Kent.
You're still my superhero, Rob.
Cool video EdwardCullenonlyone!
Who wears glasses best? Anyone else I missed?
Link me the pic!
While we have a WFE video up, a lot of you have asked what I thought of the movie. I liked the movie, a lot. I loved Rob--his haircut, the clothes, his humor.
The first time I saw it though, I couldn't quite place where it was that Marlena fell for Jacob because it seemed to me that every time she had a moment with Jacob she ended up in August's bed afterwards.
But I was really sick that first time.
So I watched it a second time and decided that it was the moment whent he music slowed when they were dancing that was when she had some feelings for him.
Was that how you saw it?
I know a lot of people felt there was a lack of chemistry between Rob and Reese, which was kind of unexpected because they had such a fun relationship in interviews.
I didn't see it as a lack of chemistry persay, I think Marlena's character didn't have reason enough to fall in love with Jacob. Her day to day living showed her living a high life of champagne and beautiful dresses. She seemed very comfortable in her life. She also seemed to be able to control August for the most part with her words.
I was left wondering if August hadn't died at the trunk of Rosie would Marlena have still been with him.
In any case, I did like the movie and am looking forward to reading the book and having the DVD in hand upcoming! Because no matter what the story, I think Rob was fantastic in it and we all know I will take Rob any way I can get him, even in glasses...

Rob looks very good with glasses, it evens out his protruding chin.
I think Jon Hamm looks exceptionally handsome with glasses too, for the same reason. Men with really chiseled features, just look strikingly gorgeous with glasses. It softens their overtly masculine face.
James Franco isn't quite as chiseled but still looks super hot in glasses too.
And "yeah" for Water For Elephants coming out on DVD on November 1!! I said it before, and I'll say it again. I thought Rob was his best in that film. AND I'm dying for Bel Ami to premiere (shit, all the film festivals are nearly done. What are they waiting for?) Next, you can do a post on "Hot Men In Hats" because he rocks the lids in that film.
I love Water for Elephants.
The first time I saw it.. Well it was the NYC Premiere and there was a lot of excitement... I was totally keyed up and when we finally got to sit down in the Ziegfeld Theater to watch the film.. I tell you.. the air was electric. When the scene with the ten going up came on I swear it felt.. to me.. likethe air whooshed out of the room as the big top billowed up... and then I remember tearing up when Jacob teared at seeing Marlena's distress over Silver Star condition.. and I cried when Jacob was held back whe August went batsh!t crazy and really beat Rosie and the tears when he first saw Rosie after the beating.. forget about it!
And Hal Holbrook... every single time.. and I saw it 12 times.. When he says " I'm not running away... I'm coming home" OPEN THE FLOOD GATES!
I thought the film was stunning to look at, the costumes and sets.... they took you there.
I thought there was a lot of chemistry between them.. when you step back and look at the characters and their back stories... I saw it.. and I think Marlena started to fall for Jacob when he shot her horse... and then when he tells her that she deserves a beautiful life before they dance in the speak easy.
I love this movie and I cannot wait for November 1st!
And kiTT.. read the book! You will lve it, but then.. I HIGHLY recommend the audio book... BEST AUDIO BOOK I HAVE EVER LISTENED TO! The Reader is AWESOME!
Holy specp0rn! Now you are speaking mah language, bb. Love the eye chart. lol
I'm a complete sucker for a hot professor type (that Pfach pic - UNF) and the adorkable, sweet geek (Daniele Gale is my kryptonite).
Re WFE: You didn't think there was reason enough for Marlena's character to fall in love with Jacob?? O.o I dunno, in the context of the story, I can easily see how Marlena would fall madly in love w/ Jacob; suddenly here comes along an attractive, sweet, good-natured, young man whom is the complete antithesis of her abusive, manipulative husband. How could she not??
Re WFE movie: I am actually one of the ppl that thought the chemistry b/w Rob/Reese was a little lackluster. Idk, I didn't feel a real, palpable connection or spark b/w the characters like I felt w/ him and Kristen -- and no, its not bc I can only bear to see him w/ Kristen, bc I thought the chemistry he had w/ Emilie de Ravin in "Remember Me" was smokin'. Overall tho, I did enjoy the movie.. and of course, enjoyed the atheistic of Rob in 1930's garb -- I swear he was made for those period piece costumes. Can't wait to get the DVD, yay!
*gun clicks* back to kiTT! Whew Matt Bomer holla!
I love me some men in glasses.
I couldn't really see the chemistry between Jacob and Marlena either. I think they really missed a lot with their time together. Their alone time in the book was more prominent but I guess when you're on a time crunch with a film it's easy to skip the lovey dovey romance and go straight to moving the story along. I'll blame Reese though. Yeah I just said it, you know you were thinking it too :)
Great post TT
Best pic in my world... Peter! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that picture.
I also LOVE your I love kitt eye chart - that is classic!!
Sorry for my late comment but I've been in a hottie in glasses induced coma since you posted this.
Men in glasses is my number 1 weakness! SUCH a good post. So much EYE candy haha.
I was wondering the same thing about WFE. In the book, I could spot Marlena falling for Rob.. um...Jacob. But in the movie I felt like she gave him sexy little looks every once in a while and boom! They were in love. Still adore the book and movie big time though. :)
Hope you're having a great weekend!
Jackson and Johnny look hauntingly alike in glasses, double yum.
Rob, well of course he's gorgeous any which way, case in point, half a hair cut. But Jackson looks hotter in glasses than Rob.
Hey, nice EP Alec pic and shout out, xo.
As far as the lack of chemistry in WFE. I don't think that was it. I think it was the way Reese played the part. Marlena was a married woman, she couldn't freely show the hots for Jacob, she had to restrain herself at all costs being around crazy August. I felt their connection as it would have been for someone of that era.
Love all these pics!! Rob looks damn hawt in all those pics....the manips are great too. I know how tricky it is - just putting him in glasses for one of my own 'projects' at the moment. It's hard to get right so I'm in awe!! ;)
Thanks kiTT. :)
Holy Toledo Batman, you just made my day!! That was super HOT!! All these years people thought there was something wrong with me because I had a thing for men in glasses... guess not anymore suckers!!!
