Sexiest Ward Alive, July TwiPeople Cover

With the last day of the month upon us after an exciting few weeks, it's time to sneak in a TwiPeople cover.

I'm not sure what an ode to some of my favorite fanfiction stories would be without a cover dedicated to 'The Office.' This story was the first Edward/Bella smut I read...or should I say Mr. Cullen/Ms. Swan? It was the first story I read where the characters were in their twenties.

For a lot of you it might have been your first fanfiction story. I know most of you have read it so I'm not going to go into a lengthy summary or review of the story. I will say that the story itself packs a punch and was heavily influential on me and my willingness to dive deeper into fanfiction. Was that true for you as well?

I think I have said this before, but if only the headquarters at GQ knew that their 2009 photoshoot of Rob in the corporate power suit and the perfect hair would be perfect advertising for a fanfiction story. There is such a desire to bring to life fanfiction stories through banners and videos, right? The GQ suit pictures succeeded in bringing to life a whole new character most of us never knew we were ready for---Beautiful Bastard.

And so chickadees, this month our favorite panty-ripping, full service conference or lingerie dressing room pleasure giver, elevator sex god, likes orange juice when he gets sick, brings cookies to his niece's tea party, wants to wisk us away and show us Paris IS our cover Ward!!

I know several of you are newer to fanfiction who have recently read it, and it seems it still holds up as a really well-told story. And who can argue with all the shock value sex? But there are some of us who still hold it near and dear to our fanfiction luvin' hearts, like @TwiloveSue. Months back when @TwiLoveSue was checking out the TwiPeople covers she had emailed and said she hoped we would be covering 'The Office' because that was one of her favorites. So Sue, we thought it would be fitting to dedicate this month's issue to you!!!

When kiTT told me she wanted to dedicate this TwiPeople cover to @TwiloveSue for her hospitality and for suggesting awhile back that we feature Beautiful Bastard on an upcoming cover, I couldn't think of anything to write. Sue's not hospitable. I didn't know she liked The Office, either. Just kiTTing! My bestie, Sue, has a ginormous heart. She was my roomie in Forks, the one who called me during the Twi Convention so I could try and hear the Q&A with the Holy Trinity, the one who called me from the Eclipse premiere tent city/red carpet, and the one who opened her home to me when I went to the San Diego Comic-Con last week. Her hospitality knows no bounds. I know she's read a few *coughseventeenthousandcough* fics and that The Office is one of her favorites. The Office was one of the original BIG stories and still holds a special place in the hearts of readers and ff history. And, I'll have you know, it's actually one I've read too. Love ya, Sue! Sure we could call it acting, but something tells me Uma was just going with it and enjoying every moment. After all, that's what we would do! I have no problem with Uma walking away saying she got some satisfaction from doing love scenes with Rob for the big screen.

Msg in a Bottle

When I was at the beach last week I caught a glimpse of something shimmering in the water.

It was a ways away so I mostly ignored it, but it kind of sparkled in the sun so I couldn't help but to smile and think of Edward.

It made it's way a little closer toward the beach.

Then it came into view more a little more clearly! It was a bottle that

looked like it was carrying a message.

Sing-A-Long if you need to!

Is it an SOS to the world?

It was just kind of washing back and forth and I couldn't quite get to it.

Then I caught sight of something and I was suddenly reminded

how in the book New Moon when Bella got pulled out of the water

by Jacob she remembered seeing just a little bit of fire red, which turned

out to be Victoria's hair.

So really....Could it be?

Holy Shit!!! It is her! It really is!

 Mrs. P!!

I waited for her to dock and watched to see if any other beachgoers went after her.

There were a lot of curious people, but I made my way over and scooped her up, said hello, and read the message!

My reaction to finding this was Oh no, Mrs. P you've got a ways to go! You're still all the way over here on the East Coast!

Still, it was nice to run into a familiar face while I was on vacation.

Small world.

I wished her safe voyage, told her to watch out for pirates, and tossed her ship back into the Atlantic Ocean for the long journey ahead.

That was a week ago today!

I was hoping she navigated her way there and found her friends @17ForeverLisa, @TwiloveSue, & @TwiredJen.

But I think she scored a whole other ticket in! Rob is looking very happy at his little find, isn't he?

Seriously how is your summer going? I've got a suntan and sunburn. wtf? That spray-on sh*t just does not work well.

When we chatted on the phone last week I told her I was so glad she liked it, and she corrected me saying that she loved it! She's like, "And, you were right, I did read it in two days."

Complicated Friendship: Rosalie

Stephenie Meyer spoke how Rosalie's story didn't present itself right away. Often as I think about my RL dealings, Twilight doesn't always present itself to me right away either but eventually I come to a realization or two...thousand. And I had one about Rosalie.

"I envy you Bella, Emmett's peen is crooked and doesn't sparkle for some reason."

So let's talk about Rosalie. Do you love her? Do you hate her? Did you have a change of heart about her once she explained her story more to Bella? Was it only once she was trading insults with the dog in Breaking Dawn that you decided she wasn't all bad?

I can say that I never disliked Rosalie while reading the Saga books. Maybe I was just so caught up with Edward to care about her. But when she approached Bella in Eclipse and discussed her life with her, I read it as a very sensitive heart to heart. I liked how Rosalie approached Bella and offered up her story to her. (Heck, I was just glad Bella had left hanging out with Jake and returned to the Cullen house at that point!)

I *guess* the whole Rosalie backstory worked on the surface, but whenever I think about her and compare her to RL people I just find too many holes in her story.

It was one thing to read in Twilight the explanation from Edward to Bella that Rosalie was jealous of the fact that Edward showed some affection toward Bella when he had never showed any toward her. Rosalie had grown up beautiful and was used to getting attention from men. So I guess for her she was so used to the attention, that Edward's immediate disapproval in Carlisle changing Rosalie in hopes of providing Edward a mate was a sting of rejection.

I can understand that.

Here's my first hole with that story, though. You would have thought that with the rampage Rosalie went on in which she killed her attackers and then finally her own fiancee she would have been in a 'All Men are Scum' state of mind in those early days of her newborn stage and didn't want any part in Edward anyway. Her decision to to take action against Royce would seem convincing that she wasn't looking to be subject to anyone making decisions for her. She wasn't happy about Carlisle turning her and taking the decision of death away from her. Why would she want someone else to choose her mate for her?

Then she finds Emmett. Not only is it her decision to drag him to Carlisle to change him, he turns out to be everything she needs and wants in a guy.

So why was there a latent sense of jealousy showing up when Bella got in the mix? Why couldn't she be happy for her brother that he had a chance at finding happiness just like the rest of the Cullen men?

I actually was really horrified when I read Midnight Sun and learned Rosalie was pushing to kill Bella as her answer to avoiding exposure, expecting the humans would believe she had a secondary brain bleed after the van accident. And even Jasper was on board with that!!! Were you shocked by that?

The Cullens had been subject to exposure in the past, and I realize that Edward saving Bella was a very public incident, but did it warrant murder? Carlisle didn't relish killing a sadistic creature like James so why was there even consideration to kill an innocent young girl?  Hole #2

And I don't buy that Rosalie didn't like Bella.

I think it was totally unfair of Rosalie to lay on Bella everything she had lost and missed out on by becoming a vampire. Bella was one of millions of people in the world. Just one person. One accident prone teenager. Plenty of women in the world were still going to go on and lead the life Rosalie would have wanted, so if she didn't like Bella then why did she care if Bella was 'throwing away those possibilities?'

Do we as women ever *want* something for another woman that we can't have for ourselves? <--Being unselfish is difficult, but easier to be unselfish for a person that is someone we care about.

I think Rosalie really did come to have a fondness for Bella. Bella was probably the first human that Rosalie allowed herself to have an attachment to since Emmett. And in voicing her 'I'm envious of you' speech, I think Rosalie really was explaining that she cared for Bella, like a big sister, enough that she wanted to offer her perspective and advice. She wanted to see Bella have the things in life that Rosalie missed out on--so I maintain that only a big sister type or friend would have offered her such advice.

The Birth Scene, Let's Discuss

I know a lot of jokes have been made about the birth scene in Breaking Dawn---lots of references and descriptions of it being a bloody mess-- but I gotta tell you that when I read it I was so caught up in what would happen next that I wasn't turned off by the blood and gore of it at all. I actually thought it was exciting.

My bigger concern was more about the fact that Jacob was still there. I was like, 'Stray dog! Go home already!!' But of course, Stephenie had to keep giving Jacob these prime spots in the book. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Jacob kept her heart beating and he was there to take over when the bloodlust got to be too much for Rosalie. But was anyone else like, WTF you can't have the baby until your doctor gets there! Most womens' doctors are on call and Bella's own personal doctor and vampy-father-in-law, Carlisle, is off hunting at the very moment she needs to deliver, conveniently not being there for the birth.

That was the part that tripped me up. 'WAIT FOR CARLISLE!!! WHAT GOOD IS HAVING DADDY C BE THE BIG M.D. IF HE'S NOT THERE TO CATCH THE LITTLE BAT AS IT COMES FLYING  OUT AND THEN STITCH BELLA UP LIKE HE'S ALREADY SO USED TO DOING?"

Of course, once I read Midnight Sun and learned how Edward's medical knowledge was equivalent to having several medical degrees plus experience helping Carlisle in the medical field, it made enough sense that Edward could deliver the baby, especially since he had gotten over his little problem of being so affected by Bella's blood. You guys all remember that part, right? Yep, turns out all that bit about her blood singing to him and him barely being able to resist it was nothing more than psychological people!!!! When he spent 24 hours thinking she was dead, he got over it. Freud wins again!

This wasn't a cheap 'Zach delivers Mrs. Belding's baby in the elevator' scene. It was Edward finally stepping it up and exuding himself as the strong, controlled, steady-handed, confident 109-year-old vampire we all knew he could be! And I loved it!!!! TAKE-CHARGE WARD gets me excited!!! And *tears* I was as proud of Edward as Carlisle expressed he was that Edward had the foreskin...ooops I mean foresight to put some of his venom into a syringe in anticipation of using it to change Bella.

But now how did that work exactly? Collecting the venom? Did he spit it into a cup? How did he make it build up? Was he looking at pictures of Bella while in a little room?

I digress.

So in BD, the twist became that changing Bella as she had wanted became necessary to saving her, nullifying whatever plan Edward already had in place to change Bella.

But having the syringe prepared ultimately makes me wonder...If Stephenie were to write all the books from Edward's POV, what would his original plan have been for changing Bella? He had to have thought about it and chronicled it, perhaps in a journal, no? After all, that was the deal he entered with Bella--marry me first and then I'll change you. He had already worked out using morphine with Carlisle. I think there is a story there to be shared by Ms. Meyer. Reason #6,421 why we need more of Edward's POV.

Red, White, & Blue

On this holiday, I just wanted to take a moment to say Happy Fourth of July. This blog has international readership, but the only reason I can have a blog at all is because I have the freedom of speech. I can talk openly about all things Twilight or whatever the hell else I feel like as long as there isn't any slander going on, which most of you know the only people around here I slam are fictional characters. *coughJacobcough*

When I was growing up I enjoyed studing the Revolutionary War but was even happier to learn that England was no longer considered an 'enemy' to our country. Our issues were resolved long ago and the USA and England had become close allies through wars and international policy and entertainment. And thank God right? Because how many times over the years have we benefited from that friendship, but never much as current times. Have we thanked Englad lately? If not, allow me.
