Birthday Art In the Afternoon

To commemorate the birthday of RPFangirlJR, a very special wing will be available today for viewings in the Museum of FanGirl Art!!

If you'll just wait here Fangirl in this luxurious lobby,

your tour guide should be along shortly. Admission is free today due to this holiday so anyone else who has found their way here today, feel free to tag along on this tour.

"I'm here. I'm here. *mumbles with accent hate that bloody boss*

"Uhhh, yeah, I forgot my uniform. Sorry 'bout that. Anyway, Happy Birthday, RPFangirl. I'm Art.

No, really that's my name and I work at a Fangirl Museum. I know, it's rather pathetic, isn't it? Well, I have this life coach named Jeanette, and she told me I should get a job. She said I'm really good at talking so she thought this would be a good fit. I dunno. You see I have this music thing, but it's not going so well. Oh hey, I have a gig on Tuesday if you want to come. It's on Tuesday...Tuesday, if you can make it. Uhhh, normally no one really shows, but you know if you want you can come. Yeah, okay.

So, let's get started. You're really quite lucky, actually. They only open this wing of the museum up on very special occasions and for real VIP types. So before we leave this room, I'm supposed to point out the painting on the wall. Self portrait of the big shot who funded this wing...Rob something or another. I get the distinct pleasure of calling him my boss. Not that I ever see the guy. He spends his days in his penthouse being painted into paintings. Must be nice.

Follow me."

"So you'll probably recognize this one. Why anyone wants to celebrate how rainy London is, is beyond me. It's depressing enough. Oh, and by the way, that's that Rob guy in there. He's easily missed in this one so I'm required to point him out. Second umbrella from the left."

"Okay next up, a gar-dun party."

"And what do you know, look who's there. This guy
is unbelievable! I suppose you like it though. All the serious fangirls do--the thought of this guy dressed up for a garden party eating his grapes, cheese, and gar-dun burgers. This one is called Fangirls at the Garden Party. Notice the lady in the yellow hat staring at him? Oh yeah, that's supposed to be a metador...no wait a metaphor for you. Gazing at him from afar.

*mumbles arrogant sod under his breath"

"You might recognize this, it's The Persistence of Rob in Your Memories. According to fangirls, he's just there swirling around in your thoughts morning, noon, and night--especially if you've seen him in person.

*mumbles riiiiiiiight"

"Ahh, now this is my favorite. The Screaming Rob! I mean it should just be a little more bloody acceptable and politically correct in life to just go out and scream once and a while, show a little frustration. Not that I believe Mr. Charmed Life ever gets frustrated over much."

"I don't even know what to say about this one. The guy has a bit of a G-d complex I think and it's like he just had to enter the chiseled arm competition. Let's keep moving on, shall we?"

"Oh here we go. Finally, one that's not him."

*Art pulls a piece of paper out of his back pocket. *

"I see, according to the notes, this one was brought in special just for your birthday. It says it is called

Keep Awake
*chuckles*

"I like this one. If I was that lady I'd sleep with one eye open."

"And, we are coming to the end of the room. The big fangirl finale of sorts. And this one is called 'Old Timer.'"

*laughs himself silly*

"No actually, this is called 'Timeless Rob' so make of that what you will. And so that is it and concludes our birthday tour!

No wait, Fangirl, don't open that door!! Noooooooo, it's...well I'm not sure if you are supposed to see what's in there. Bloody hell I haven't even been in that room yet. Come back. That's the newest LostImmortal exhibit but it's strictly by invite only!"

"Oh, I see you have a ticket from the exhibit patron. She has quite an extensive collection and has loaned the museum a few portraits from it. Okay, well it's your birthday so get on with it and take a look."

*pulls out notes*

"Yes I believe I have some info on this."

Number 1. Exhibit will be only black/white portraits.
Number 2. Photos based on J/E Fanfiction

*looks up from notes and scratches head*

"J/E Fanfiction, what the hell is that?"

Number 3. Artist is LostImmortal and the exhibit is sponsored by the affluent socialite @17ForeverLisa.

"Wait a minute, isn't that the Keep Awake guy?"

"Guess they are buddies. Maybe in a band together or something."

"Ohhhh, okay. So are they brothers? They look like they crack on each other a lot."

"Wait...wait a minute, that doesn't look like brothers!"

"Why does that Jackson guy's hair keep changing?"

"Uhhhh, I don't really know what to say..."

(At this time RPFangirl takes a moment to explain to poor naive Art exactly what this exhibit is about.)

"Really? No, really? Well okay then, I think we'll just get back on track wit the rest of the scheduled tour."

*Art makes a mental note to himself to check out J/E Fanfiction and wonders if there is any 'Art' Fanfiction as he escorts Fangirl out and closes the door behind him.*

"Okay so we are just going to continue heading down the hall back toward the lobby."

*looks over notes again*

"Oh, and so I'm just supposed to read this to you.

Dear Fangirl,
We hope you enjoyed your trip through the
special wing of the Museum of Fangirl Art.

blah, blah, blah, blah-blah, blah, blah

On behalf of the entire staff at the museum, I
wish you a very Happy Birthday.

As you exit the Fangirl Wing  and return to the lobby,
someone will be awaiting
to escort you to the next wing of the museum.

*mumbles oh f*ck to himself*

*Art calls out after Donna, who has already bolted out the door with Rob.*

"Donna? Donna?
Goodbye Donna! Don't forget about my show...on Tuesday."

Wishing you a wonderful day!!!

I've Been Holding Out...

on sharing something. So once again, Munkee (Emily) made me something really cool out of the generosity of her heart! If you never saw the most awesome Robert Pattinson totebag in the world she made me click here. I'm very protective of it.

Over the summer, one of my fav followers and more-recent fellow FF reader, Munkee, emailed me to tell me she is working on a new creation. There was discussion about my favorite picture of Rob and then I was very excited. This is what Munkee made:

Isn't it cute? It's made of fabric and it is a small case for whatever I choose to put in it.

Much to my surprise, there was a second one she included with a picture we hadn't discussed and she included a note that said there was one to keep for myself and share the other with a RL friend.

Check this one out!

But the back is really cool too!!!

Share this? Like just give it away?
Well sometimes you gotta draw a line in the sand!!

Dearest Munkee-- I've never been more happy to say that I have no RL friends who would love and appreciate this Rob-inspired creation as much as me, so I'll just have to keep this for myself, thank you very much!

*X*O*X*O*

So I had thrown it out there on my last post that there was an actress who suddenly reminded me of Kristen as far as that awed facial expression. Lots of Jodie Foster guesses...but nope.

It is actually Meg Ryan.

Check out @54 seconds! Kristen totally does that shaking her head as if to to clear it and runs her hands through her hair move in Twilight in her bedroom. Right? About three things I was certain...

Think about Meg in 'City of Angels' and how dazzled she always looked by an uninvited supernatural being that was Nicholas Cage, (of rumored real-life vampire fame. Coincidence?) who fell in love with a human and was willing to become human for her if he could. And then there is that whole drama with him having to face her dying...

Wow, that story sounds really familiar, huh?

Does Anyone Else See 'it'?

IMPORTANT! Please Read: This post is not intended to be commentary on the personal nature of the past, current, or future status of the relationship between Rob and Kristen.

Whew! Now that we got that out of the way...

If anything, it is commentary on how deeply imbedded the images associated with Twilight are in my mind. [read as: how disturbed pathetically obsessed I've come  to be]

It is also possible that I have figured out a uniqueness amongst Twilight fans. I mean what is 'it' that ties us all together? You know that old thing how we only use 10% of our brains? It might be possible that, if you let it, Twilight helps you tap into maybe an extra 2% to 5% above and beyond that original 10%.

Yes that is how I am going to explain this....some special synapses going off in our heads that generate that extra 5%. I'm completely satisfied with that answer.

After Brad Pitt's interview on the Today show, I watched a little blurb (here) about the he said / she said of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston yesterday and saw this picture:

which immediately made me think of this exact picture:

Do you see 'it' too....whatever 'it' is? It's not something I need to totally define beyond just
a complete in-the-moment enthusiasm.

(Beyond that, I will let you draw your own conclusions in comparing the two! LOL)

Have I gotten completely wired up with Twilight?

Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there.

You'll never guess which 90s actress I was watching in a movie recently and thought, "OMG, that is such the #WinningBellaLook." Then I thought over a bunch of her movies and found a lot of similarities in how she displayed that look of awe, wonder, and confusion.

Hint:  They worked together at least once in a movie.

And side note....It's the End of the world as we know it.
That's me in the corner. That's me in the spotlight, losing my religion.

REM BROKE UP???

Well if you believe they put a Man on the Moon, then I believe there will be a reunion tour eventually.

Thank you REM! Your songs will be forever tied to some great memories for me!

And even great memories for my daughter!
She loved this episode!

"Furry sobbing monsters feeling sad..." It's like a Breaking Dawn theme song for Jacob. (LMAO, WHOOPS I did it again didn't I?)

**Happy Weekend**

Twilight: Let's Get Graphic!

Are you planning on buying the Twilight Graphic Novel Volume II?

I love Volume I, but I admit that I wasn't sure if I would. I dunno, it just seemed like why do I need to read this as a comic book when I already love the books and the actors portraying them in the movie? And yet I found that reading it gave me a 'new and different Twilight experience.'  I didn't hear the voices of Rob or Kristen or the voices I hear while reading Twilight. I heard a darker, more mysterious lower Edward voice and a slightly high-pitched, hesitant younger, very girly Bella with long flowy hair.

I decided I enjoyed that these artist renderings were not copies of the actors or the movies. Turns out, I  crave new perspective on the Saga and little new nuances or surprises. Sort of like how I watch New Moon and think, "Okay this time Edward won't leave!" Right, you do it too? You just want a little change every now and then. A little surprise...that's what I found with the graphic novel.

One of my favorite surprises was the equivalent to page 230 in the Twilight book chapter 11, Complications. In the book Edward has declared it would be his turn to ask questions and he walks Bella to classes all the while constantly quizzing her. From Midnight Sun we know that just before this point he was still very hesitant to touch her. Believe me, he wants to, but he is worried about her being fragile and how she will react to his cold stone skin.

But the graphic novel shows them holding hands as they walk through the halls, which definitely made my heart sigh. When it comes to Twilight it just takes so little!

So if you haven't yet gotten the graphic novel, I highly recommend it!

And I am really looking forward to Volume II!

I didn't comprehend to total meaning of the cover picture of Bella on Volume I until the picture for the second volume was released and then I realized it was them in the meadow. (yeah I'm slow!) So now I say, if anyone ever sees where this is being sold as a poster, please let me know because I think I would like to have it.

Isn't it pretty? Don't you just sigh to think of the meadow scene here? If you truly love the story and characters, then I think this is a wonderful addition to your book collection.

On another note, big Congrats to the Phillies!!!!!

Edward is happier about their winning than he looks!!! He just doesn't like hats messing up his perfect hair.

Tell me your impression of the graphic novel, if you have it, in the comments!!!

Remembrance

Made by @17foreverLisa (thank you!)

In tribute because I think we all still seek comfort over what happened, but don't overlook the fact that you can offer comfort to others--even if they are just moments of comfort.

I think it's important to reassure the family and friends that their lost loved ones' fingerprints don't fade from the lives they've touched.

I made a video last year for my bloggy friends that I never went in and tried to edit or work more on my video skills but the message still holds true. To revisit that video go here.

I find comfort in the Remembrance ceremonies.

May you find moments of comfort today.

TwiPeople's Sexiest Ward Alive, August Issue

So this edition is being put out a little late. Deadlines, shmedlines (ummm, the fanfiction story's author's life is mostly run by meeting deadlines so she might not be so understanding of TwiPeople's tardiness, that is if she stops by) which brings us to Labor Day...today yesterday. Well our Sexiest Ward of the (last)Month thinks a lot about labor. Is he a gynecologist you ask? No. Expecting to be a dad for the tenth time? Nope!

He thinks a lot about labor because you see, while he's great at his current profession, sometimes it takes a little more out of him than he wants to give. His chosen-for-him job is demanding, risky, and has forced him to make personal sacrifices.

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

TwiPeople's Coverward would like to just have a normal mundane job.

"Days like this, I actively fantasized about having 'real' employment in the 'real' world. Today it was a bowling alley." (Chapter 1)

You'll be bowling in Lane 17. What size shoe do you need?

"Maybe one that involved a brown uniform where I could deliver packages each day to people who were unreasonably happy to see me." (Chapter 3)

"Sign here ma'am. Have a good day, too."

"I bet I could mix paints like nobody's business." (Chapter 5)

Nuts and Bolts? That would be in Aisle 5.

"...my heartfelt aspiration last week was to become Employee of the Month at Applebee's. I would serve colorful food, over-priced drinks, and hand the kids a balloon on their way out." (Chapter 7)

"In an alternate universe, I walked away from the family business three years earlier and enrolled at WSU, earning a degree in forensic accounting. Then I pursued a perfectly boring career...and lived happily ever after with the prettiest girl to come out of Forks High."
 (Chapter 11)

These numbers are way off. Another freakin' Madoff.

Instead, Edward Cullen was born into a life with a dangerous vocation of hunting and killing vampires. The need to rid the world of vampires was something he learned about at his father's knee when he was young and trained for as he got older.

If it was a vampire (or on its way to becoming one), then he staked it, dismembered it, and scattered or torched the pieces. As long as he wasn't killed in the process, then it was simple.

Or at least it was simple, until he found a girl transforming into a newborn that he couldn't bear to kill. So instead he brought her to his house, chained her to his basement floor, and sang and played guitar as Bella Swan completed the transformation into becoming a vampire, all along keeping it hidden from his coworkers, who also happen to be his family.

Even though his professional life is intertwined with his personal life, there are two distinct sides to this Edward. In his job he has to be quick on his feet, trust his instincts, and aggressive enough to kill vampires. In his personal life, he's this sweet, caring regular guy who respects his family but has always yearned for a boring job and a normal life to share with the girl he loves.

If you've read 'The Family Business' by SuzsPetals then you know what an amazing story it is and how role reversal works so well in it! There is a lot of conflict and turmoil crafted into this story that keep you wanting more. In addition, there are lots of fun different twists along the way that was great fun to picture as I read including the relationship the family has with the wolves and the Volturi. (pssst...Edward involved with a member of the Volturi, anyone?) The author professes her love of Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and, being a Buffy fan myself, I loved all of her Buffy references. Check out the font @17ForeverLisa and I picked out to write 'Slayerward' -- it is called Buffified!

If you have yet to read this great fanfiction story, then please add it to your list! You will want to find out if Edward Cullen is ever able to leave the family business behind and work a normal job!

I laugh about the irony of first line I pulled out of the story to quote about how Edward Cullen wishes to have a 'real' job in the 'real' world.
Aren't all of us the EXACT OPPOSITE?
We wish to have an 'imaginary' job (with Edward Cullen) in our little 'imaginary' Twi-world. Let's ponder all the 'jobs' we would like to do with Edward Cullen.

Have you read the story?
Leave word in the comments!

And drumroll please......Congratulations to TwiWeasel from Edbrellla!!! She won the Summer CoverYourWard Contest in a random selection done of Random.org! She gets to chose either the September or October TwiPeople cover.

**Thanks so much to TwiPeople's Graphic Arts Dept, @17ForeverLisa, for all of her hard work on not just the cover this month but all the extra Rob pictures she was willing to slay tackle with this Ward to help make this post come to life!!!! It may not seem like it because of the simplistic elegance of it, but I feel like this cover was our biggest challenge to date in trying to express a bit of the plot and convey the personality of Slayerward. Thank you for all the overtime you put into this little labor of love project!!!!**

(side note: Doesn't he look like he went behind a bush to pee? LOL Does anyone else know the joke about how when guys pee in the ocean they put one hand up to let other guys know what they are doing? The same way Jackson is waving here?)

When you're a criminal helping the FBI you don the glasses, not the trench coat.

AND LAST...

BUT CERTAINLY

NOT LEAST

guess who I'm back to talking about....

"Is it Me?"

*grasps side of chair*

Yes it's you, Rob. So what's with the glasses?
I don't think you are having a problem seeing me Rob, I'm just too far away.
*giggle*

Oh, well we can clear up your vision right here, right now.

Let's have Rob and check his vision, right here, right now.

I've provided you with a standard eye chart, Rob. Why don't you go ahead and read just the first four lines for us.

20/20, Baby!!!

You pass with flying colors!!! Perfect vision!

You know, sometimes the role just requires glasses.
And I'm good with that whether it is for a film
 or even just fanfiction.
{let me know if you know who made this}

And no one seems to mind if Rob just throws those glasses on for fun once and a while. Hell I saw this and I had a little twinge of regret.

I know, I know, he doesn't have the role....

...but just for a second I reveled in the thought of him playing Clark Kent.

You're still my superhero, Rob.

Who wears glasses best? Anyone else I missed?
Link me the pic!

While we have a WFE video up, a lot of you have asked what I thought of the movie. I liked the movie, a lot. I loved Rob--his haircut, the clothes, his humor.

The first time I saw it though, I couldn't quite place where it was that Marlena fell for Jacob because it seemed to me that every time she had a moment with Jacob she ended up in August's bed afterwards.

But I was really sick that first time.

So I watched it a second time and decided that it was the moment whent he music slowed when they were dancing that was when she had some feelings for him.

Was that how you saw it?

I know a lot of people felt there was a lack of chemistry between Rob and Reese, which was kind of unexpected because they had such a fun relationship in interviews.

I didn't see it as a lack of chemistry persay, I think Marlena's character didn't have reason enough to fall in love with Jacob. Her day to day living showed her living a high life of champagne and beautiful dresses. She seemed very comfortable in her life. She also seemed to be able to control August for the most part with her words.

I was left wondering if August hadn't died at the trunk of Rosie would Marlena have still been with him.

In any case, I did like the movie and am looking forward to reading the book and having the DVD in hand upcoming! Because no matter what the story, I think Rob was fantastic in it and we all know I will take Rob any way I can get him, even in glasses...

from sweet geek
